West Ham are in talks with Southampton over a £10million bid for England international Nathan Redmond, with the club hopeful of agreeing terms with the England midfielder’s representatives this week.
Sources have told ESPN FC that West Ham have been in contact with Southampton about the potential signing of Redmond since last week, but they have yet to finalise a fee.
West Ham are still looking for the player who, with his goalscoring exploits, has helped them to their first Premier League title since 2007.
The 26-year-old has netted a record nine times in all competitions this season, while also adding an assist.
West Bromwich Albion are also believed to be interested in the forward.
Redmond has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, and West Ham had been hoping to seal a deal for him this week with a fee in excess of £15m.
However, Liverpool have reportedly made a formal offer in the region of £10.5m.
The England international has enjoyed a sensational season for Southampton, scoring 17 goals in the Premier League, including two against Liverpool.
The Saints have secured promotion to the top flight for the first time since 2008, and Redmond’s arrival would mean West Ham move closer to securing their first title in two years.
