A rooftop bar in the heart of London is taking its booze to the next level, offering free drinks to the lucky drinkers in the bar.
Atkins Bar, on Park Lane in Knightsbridge, is taking part in the ‘Beer, Love and Music for Life’ campaign, which aims to promote the importance of drinking responsibly.
It is a partnership between the Bar and the Friends of Atkins Bar to promote beer, wine and local food.
“It’s really simple.
We’re giving the bar a free pint to whoever comes in with a friend or couple.
We’ll also give them a free bottle of wine and a beer for their own.
We also have a food and drink menu so anyone can go in and get whatever they want,” Bar manager Chris Hutton said.
Atkinson Bar is part of the Friends bar chain, which includes a number of pubs, restaurants and bars in London including St Paul’s, the Crown and The King.
The campaign aims to bring together people from different walks of life and bring together the ‘greatest people on Earth’, said Bar manager Hutton.
“I think it’s really cool that we’re all sharing this kind of social good with each other.
It’s really nice to see the love that we have for one another,” he said.
Mr Hutton says the bar has had more than 200 customers come in and said he was impressed with how many of them were in their 20s and 30s.
“They’re the most amazing people, I think, and they’re all looking forward to seeing how we go,” he added.
“We’re really proud to be part of this campaign and I hope that by coming to a bar like ours we can make a big difference in their lives and help them get to grips with alcohol.”
The Bar is open from 9am to 9pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 9pm to 9am on Saturdays.
